Goed Fortuin Achievers One, Smithers win Payless volleyball titles
Goed Fortuin Achievers One and Smithers won the male and female Payless Variety Store Volleyball titles respectively last Sunday at the National Gymnasium.
Goed Fortuin Achievers One overcame Guyana Defence Force 25-19, 25-16 in the male final, while Smithers beat Rowers 30-19 in the female segment.

In preliminary action, Achievers One got the better of Achievers Two 30-16, GDF defeated Park Rangers 30-25, GDF hammered Achievers Two 30-23, Achievers One trounced Park Rangers 30-19, Achievers 1 got pass GDF 30-26 and Achievers 2 triumphed over Park Rangers 30-26 in the male and Smithers beat Rowers 25-12, 25-19 in the female first round games.
The winning and runner up teams received trophies and medals, while Bunny Grimes of GDF took the best setter award, Creston Rodney of Achievers One grabbed the Most Outstanding Spiker prize, Mikey Adolph of Achievers One collected the best blocker trophy and Krysty Amy Yan of Smithers was given the Most Valuable Female Player crown.
