Outstanding performances by Robin Bacchus, Christopher Barnwell and Kishmar Santokie guided the Guyana Warriors to a 10 run victory over Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in the second warm up game on Sunday evening at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Opener Bacchus stroked a well composed half century and shared in a third wicket stand of 71 with Barnwell as Guyana posted 144-4 from their allotted overs batting first.
Santokie then duplicated the form that earned him the leading bowler in the LCPL, he blew away the visitors top order with penetrative bowling after which they never really recovered and managed 134-7 in reply.
Bacchus and Trevon Griffith added 40 for the opening stand before Griffith was run out for 17. The home team then lost Leon Johnson (06) at 66-2. Skipper Barnwell joined Bacchus and entertained the small but vocal crowd with aggressive batting on a flat Providence track. Barnwell took a liking for spinner Sherwin Ganga, smashing him for 27 runs in the 19th over.
Bacchus top scored with 60 from 62 balls with four fours and a similar number of sixes, while Barnwell slammed three huge sixes and three fours in scoring a rapid 47 off 27 balls. Rayad Emrit was the pick of the bowlers for the Red Force with 3-37.
Santokie made early inroads when he had Adrian Barath caught behind off the first delivery of the Red Force innings and accounted for Nicholas Sookdeosingh (01)in the said over.
He then uprooted the stumps of Jason Mohamed (00) two overs later to leave the score at 4-3. Pacer Keon Joseph sent Denesh Ramdin (09) packing at 22-4 before opener Evin Lewis (54) and Ganga (22) steadied the chase with a fifth wicket partnership of 74.
Santokie justified Barnwell’s decision to bring him back by removing Lewis, while Barnwell accounted for Ganga and Nicholas Pooran (04) to further dent the Red Force hopes.
However Emrit with 21 not out and Navin Stewart, who was unbeaten on 10, tried desperately to bring their team back into the contest with aggressive batting, but the Warriors held their nerves to pull off a well deserved victory.
Santokie grabbed 4-36, while Barnwell supported with 2-18. The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force used their two matches in Guyana as a warm up for the Champions League T20 in India later this month.
Earlier in the day, Suriname XI defeated West Demerara Mavericks by 7 wickets and 2 balls to spare in an exhibition match. West Demerara Mavericks scored 78-7 batting first. Leg spinner Amir Khan claimed 3-13. Suriname responded with 82-3 in 9.4 overs. Khan returned to hit 33 not out. The game was reduced to 10 overs due to rain.
