Guyanese cyclist Geron Williams who is currently training and competing in the United States of America with Team Foundation is currently on a Tour of the Twin Island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago participating in the Tour of TnT, August 28 to September 1.
The talented rider is placed at number 47 in the Critis Championship Series in the USA with close to 500 riders competing; he has missed three (3) races in this series.
Williams Geron is still training and competing in the USA with Team Foundation. He is part of a shortlist of riders who will represent Guyana at Elite Caribbean Championship 2013 set for Curacao on October 19-20.
Due to the cancellation of the initial first stage of the 2013 Tour of TnT, Hill Time Trial at Maracas, the King George V Night Criterium essentially became the first stage. Spectators saw some exciting
and high tempo cycling.
T&T fromer National Champion Guy Costa was involved in an unfortunate crash on the first lap of the main event and the Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation has extended wishes to him for a speedy recovery.
At the end of the 1 hour and 2 laps event, Jason Perryman of Heatwave was the eventual winner after he broke away with Calixto Bello (Team Predator), Geron Williams (Team Foundation) and Henner Rodel (Team Petrotrin) just 10 minutes into the race. The four lapped the bunch with 20 minutes remaining, setting up an exciting sprint finish.
Ten-Time National Road Race Champion, Emile Abraham (Team Predator) would win the bunch sprint to finish 5th overall while Akil Campbell (Sonics) was the first Junior.
