– four in custody
Robert Manna also called Jake, whose semi-nude body was discovered lying face down on the street in front of his friend’s house at Westminster, La Parfaite Harmonie Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara, died of a fractured skull caused by blows he received to the head.
This was determined by a post mortem examination conducted on Monday last, which also cleared suspicions that the 54-year-old man was sodomised.
Meanwhile, Manna’s friend “Ramesh”, with whom he had been drinking the night before, and in front of whose house his remains laid, was subsequently taken into police custody.
Kaieteur News learnt yesterday that “Ramesh” gave police the names of three other men, whom he said were also “drinking rum and watching cricket” at his house. The four men remain in police custody.
Meanwhile, the dead man’s brother said that although he had wanted to cremate his sibling, he would have to resort to a burial, in order to facilitate an exhumation, should the need arise.
