A letter appeared in our August 21 edition, captioned “Appropriate penalties for domestic violence must be enforced when the situation demands it”.
The correspondence was emailed to this publication on behalf of the Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security and reflects the view of the Ministry in response to an earlier letter from Mr. Vidyaratha Kissoon. Hence, it should not have been attributed to Sohodra Rampersaud, as it mistakenly was due to a misunderstanding.
This serves as recognition and correction of that error and an apology for any inconvenience or embarrassment caused.
