Giftland OfficeMax, yesterday presented Asics Footwear to the top athletes that emerged from last Sunday’s Boyce & Jefford Track and Field Classic IV. Alita Moore, who was adjudged the Champion Female and Stephan James, who copped Champion Male, both dominated the sprints to claim the premier honours.

Moore toppled veteran sprint queen Alisha Fortune in the Women’s 100m while Fortune turned the tables in the 200m race. However, Moore also won the 400m race in a dominant performance that continued her ascendancy in local athletics.
James feat was similar, only that he won all the sprint events, including the marquee 100m to be the most dominant male at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground on Sunday in Linden. Giftland, as part of their sponsorship, presented Asics joggers to both athletes.
In addition to the footwear, both Moore and James will receive $50,000 for their performances; both athletes had already collected their trophies and other cash prizes; James won an additional $50,000 for winning the 400m, which was an international race while Moore won $30,000 for her second place finish in the Women’s 200m.
Giftland OfficeMax’s, Compton Babb reiterated the company’s commitment towards the progress of sport, stating that their consistent partnership with the event has allowed them to help improve the quality of athletics through its popular Asics brand.
