A third person has been charged for the March 25, 2013 robbery carried out on businessman, Cecil Gajadar.
The accused, 27-year-old Ronald Kissoon of Lot 59 James Street Albouystown appeared before Magistrate Ann Mc Clennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Kissoon denied the charge. He was unrepresented at yesterday’s hearing and subsequently remanded to prison until September 13, 2013.
According to court documents, Gajadar was robbed of $4.3M while in the vicinity of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) on Camp Street. The businessman was reportedly attacked by three bandits, one of whom was alleged to be Kissoon. The bandits relieved Gajadar of the substantial amount of cash, while he was sitting in his car at Camp Street before fleeing the scene.
Two persons were previously remanded for the crime perpetrated on Gajadar. The duo, Romario Gouveia, 22, of Lot 21 Independence Boulevard, Albouystown, and Damien Allicock, 18, of Lot 64 James Street, Albouystown, are said to be relatives.
They faced Magistrate Sueanna Lovell jointly charged for the crime, to which, they pleaded not guilty. They too were remanded to prison at their initial appearance.
