The Guyanese turned in commendable performances in the Boys and Girls U-11 categories in the 8th Caribbean Pre-Cadet Table Tennis
championships which continued yesterday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall; they will battle their counterparts from Trinidad and Tobago.
The host were not so dominant in the U-13 division, but can still land gold in the boys division whereas the girls will take on Barbados for Bronze.
In the U-11 category the Guyana team comprising Tyriq Saunders, Terence Raush and Bissu Niron came second in the preliminary round. The Trinidad and Tobago team which includes Brandon Lee, Messiah Walcott and Aaron Amoroso finished first, while team Barbados and Aruba placed third and fourth respectively. In the female segment team Guyana ended the preliminaries ahead of Trinidad and Tobago.
The local boys U-13 team comprise of Micheal Wong, Jeremy Singh and Khalil Ninvalle dominated their rivals as they finished ahead of Barbados, Aruba, Trinidad and Tobago and the Guyana B team in that order.
Jeremy Singh led the Guyana challenge in this category defeating Roberto Johnson 3-2.
The competition continues today.
