The 13th Edition of the William ‘The Conqueror’ France Fitness Walk and Run will be staged tomorrow morning from 6:30am. The event will start from Two Brothers Gas Station and conclude at Mocha Road head.
France indicated that there will be special awards for the top participants and persons that have contributed to the success of the programme and his activities over the years. France, Dennis Burns and John Otto are due to travel to Canada for the Terry Fox Run there on August 15.
Williams France and Dennis Burns display some of the trophies and prizes that will be given out tomorrow.
He expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff of the Demerara Harbour Bridge for their help in him conducting several walks along the bridge in which he raised over half a million dollars for the Canada trip.
France, a leg amputee, has led the way over the years in highlighting the cause for disabled athletes, participating in several international marathons and other distance events also locally.
He expressed gratitude to President Donald Ramotar, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, Opposition Leader David Granger, Nigel’s Super Market, Brains Watch World and Da Silva’s Optical in Middle Street, who presented him with a pair of glasses, and several others for their assistance.
