Guyana grabbed first innings points for the Leeward Islands in the fifth round of the Regional U-19 three day tournament which commenced in St. Kitts yesterday.
Leewards batted first and were bowled out for 128 in 42.5 overs. Carty top scored with 26 while Powell supported with 23 and Martina 22. Gudakesh Motie Kanhai was the pick of the bowlers bagging 5-31, while Vishal Narayan took 2-29.
Guyana in reply were reduced to 84-4 before Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Ricardo Adams added 51 for the fifth wicket to revive the innings. Guyana, who drew their previous game against Jamaica, closed the day on 152-5 after 45 overs with Chanderpaul not out on 24. Moore has so far taken 3-54.
