Captain of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Ramnaresh Sarwan, said that it is good to start the Limacol Caribbean Premier League (LCPL) with two wins. The right handed batsman said the victories are a result of the hard work the team put in during their practice sessions. “One of the things that change from the first game is the mind set; our spinners are doing a very good job. We were not happy with our fielding in the first game where we dropped a few catches but we did some work in this department and it has improved tremendously”, added Sarwan.
He informed that they are trying to get better with every game they play. “We are putting our best effort in trying to execute our game plan’, he said.
Sarwan indicated that left arm pacer Krishmar Santokie is an asset to the team. “He brings variation to the bowling”, he informed.
Opener Lendl Simmons played a gem of an innings at the top of the order in Friday’s match and said that he likes the Guyana condition. “I am accustomed to playing in Guyana, I know the pitch well and I am riding on my confidence”, added Simmons.
He stated that the coaches Roger Harper and Curtly Ambrose inspire the team a lot and everyone is looking up to them. (Zaheer Mohamed)
