Mother still seeks missing son
After two years, a grieving 55-year-old mother of three would like to know if anyone knows the whereabouts of her 37-year-old son, Sunil Karpen. The man has been missing since 2011.
According to Jane Karimullah of Vreed en Hoop, West Coast Demerara, her son got married in 1995 and was divorced the following year, after the birth of his first child.

She explained that her son became depressed and later began wandering on the road with no fixed place of abode. “He was a painter and worked a lot in the interior. The last time I saw him was June 2011 and never again. Every day I would sit on the veranda and sometimes cry hoping that he would come home one day…I even checked with the prisons and he is not there.”
Thoughts would pass through her mind that her son could be dead. The mother of three said that daily it bothers her. However, she would rather have her worst fears confirmed than having to keep wondering.
After making several reports at various police stations, Karimullah said that if anyone knows of the whereabouts of her son she is kindly asking them to contact the nearest police station or 254-0194.
