– Advises local artist to step up and create Guyana’s own brand
The Guyana National stadium will be fogged up tonight as Soca King Machel Montano with his HD band is advising patrons to come out prepared to get sweaty and not to overdress for the event since constant gyration and entertainment will take flow through the stadium.
Pulse Entertainment promises that this will be the first show in Guyana where Carbon dioxide (CO2) would be used through fog machines to really “fog up deh place.”
“I challenged them to do it as we do it in Trinidad, because when we say fog up the place we mean the whole place is fog, nobody should care who over there or here or who next to them or what they are wearing. We all get powder down,” Montano said at a press conference yesterday at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA.)
“Rain sun, snow or any condition is a good condition for Soca music. We jump in the rain; all who want to dress up too fancy better know when that time comes. All the fanciness done, we never worry about rain that is a blessing.”
He arrived with his High Definition Band that includes Farmer Nappy and Patrice Roberts. In addition, for the first time in Guyana, Trinidadian Chutney Queen, Drupattie will also share the stage with Montano. She is popular for her collaboration with Montano titled “Wuk up de Larkhi”. Olatunji will also be performing live on stage.
In inviting local artist to step up their game and make a name for themselves while possessing a Guyanese flavor, Montano said “It is my obligation to spread my knowledge to other artist…Anytime I come into contact with any artist I always give them advice that I think is relevant for their future or for their next step.”
Montano’s last performance in Guyana lasted three hours and patrons are wondering how the Soca King will outdo himself tonight.
Endorsing the event was Guyana Tourism Authority Director Indranauth Haralsingh who said that such entertainment activities also promote tourism while making Guyana the entertainment capital of the Caribbean.
CEO of Pulse Entertainment’s, Robbie Singh, said that Machel gives exceptional performances and the organisation will continue to support his entertainment.
General admission to the Mega concert is $3000 while stage front tickets cost $15,000 and the Luxury VIP tickets cost $30,000. These tickets can be obtained at advertised outlets.
