The final set of individual matches was played yesterday in the Junior Caribbean Squash Championships which are being played at the Cascadia and Queens Park Oval squash courts in Trinidad.
In the Boys Under-15 final, Ben Mekdeci beat Johnathan Walker 3-0 to claim the title, while in the Boys Under-17 decider, Nyron Joseph beat Nku Patrick 3-1 to claim the crown.
The Girls Under-17 final resulted in Gylla McKenzie defeating Akeila Wiltshire 3-1, while the Girls Under-19 final saw Charlotte Knaggs getting the better of Victoria Arjoon 3-0.
Other results show; In the Girls Under-15 Classic Plate Rebecca Low beat Olivia Lindsey 3 – 2 to finish fifth.
In the Boys Under-13 third place playoff Shomari Wiltshire beat Jasun Sairsingh 3 – 2.
The Girls Under-17 third place playoff saw Gabby Fraser beat Larissa Wiltshire 3 – 1.
The Boys Under-19 all Guyanese third place playoff resulted in Jean Claude Jeffrey beating Stephen Xavier 3 – 1.
Meanwhile, the Boys and Girls Team event starts today; Guyana is grouped with Barbados and Bermuda in the girls and Jamaica and OECS in the Boys.
Guyana play Jamaica at 9:00 am and OECS at 5:00 pm in the Boys Team event and in the Girls, Bermuda at 1:00 pm today and Barbados at 9:00 am on Friday 26th.
