Police were called in yesterday after some residents reported that the decomposing body of a baby was found on top of a septic tank. Kaieteur News was told that a mother of eight was in police custody after she allegedly admitted to throwing her new born baby into the septic tank at the back of her home in Victoria Street, Albouystown.
According to police sources, a neighbour’s dog dragged a rotting hand out of a septic tank. The sight alerted residents. The hand was found on Hunter Street, about 20 yards away from the woman’s house.
The police were quickly called in. This newspaper was told that the woman told investigators that she drank “something” and later disposed of the baby’s body after it came down.
It is unclear if the woman would be charged, investigations into the incident are continuing.
