The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) senior Female Inter County 50 over tournament bowls off today with Essequibo facing Demerara at the Everest Cricket Club.
Demerara Captain June Ogle-Thomas will lead their batting department with support from Akeze Thompson, Kavita Yadram, Haseena Mohamed and Hema Singh. Talented left arm spinner Joan Vansertima may find the Everest pitch much to her liking and will spearhead the hosts bowling department which also includes Abena Parker and Thompson.
The full Essequibo team which was yet to be confirmed up to late last evening will look to redeem itself in female cricket and will depend heavily on Kumarie Persaud, Amrita Mohabir and Cascia Mantoos. Action gets under way at 09:30hrs.
The Demerara team reads; June Ogle Thomas (Capt.), Akeze Thompson, Kavita Yadram, Hema Singh, Johan Vansertima, Haseena Mohamed, Tracey Glasgow, Jeannette Daniels, Leana Harris, Abena Parker, Renika Isaacs, Odessa Oneil , Latoya Smith, Mandy Mangru, Lashana Toussaint. The Manager is Maylene Ramdular and Coach is Orin Bailey.
