place of origin.
Reece, who has had an indifferent year in the saddles so far, showed that he was returning to form by battering the field by over four minutes. He took the lead a few miles into the race an opened a lead on the No19 Road. He was however caught around the Borlam Turn area at the end of the straight road when he was challenged by the young Audrel Ross. He once opened a lead at the No1 area and was never caught again, riding the rest of the journey with the elements and the wailing police siren as company.
For his exploits, he rode away with all the six sprint point prizes up for the taking.
In the sprint home for the other top spots Elijah Brijadder came home ahead of Keith Griffith and Syborne Fernandes.
Brijadder was the first junior to cross the finish line with Christal Kamal second and Yasheer Israel third. Fernandes was awarded the prize for being the top veteran on show.
The cyclists were presented with trophies, cash incentives and other prizes by Felix and other members of his family at a simple presentation ceremony held Felix’s residence.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, his son Russell thanked everyone for participating in the event and for collectively coming together to make the event a success and a memorable occasion. He was also loud in praise Coach and coordinator Randolph Roberts and the Guyana Police Force for their splendid job done. He also promised on behalf of the family to continue sponsoring the event and make it bigger and better in the future.
Coordinated and coach of the Flying Ace Cycle Club Randolph Roberts in turn thanked the Felix Family for the gesture and the Police for their splendid assistance.
