Twenty-six year old West Indies female team batter June Ogle will lead a powerful Demerara unit in the senior female inter-county 50-over cricket competition billed for the Everest ground starting tomorrow.
The wicketkeeper is also an opening batter and has played in four women’s ODI and two T20s for the West Indies after making her debut against South Africa Women who played five ODIs and two Twenty20s in January in the Caribbean.
Demerara play their opening game against Essequibo tomorrow and their Manager is Malyane Ramdular, while the Coach is Orin Bailey, before facing favorites Berbice, whose team should include West Indies trio Shemaine Campbelle, Subrina Munroe and Tremayne Smartt, in the final round on Friday at the same venue.
Berbice face Essequibo on Thursday in the other game, again at the Everest ground.
