All systems are in place for the long awaited Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities (RCMTC&SF) and Port Mourant Turf Club (PMTC) one day horserace meet set for today at the Port Mourant Turf Club.
The meet will now have eight races on the cards and still has over a whopping $6M in cash and trophies up for grabs. The B and lower event will once again be the feature activity of the day with horses such Score’s Even, Mission King, Ellies Vision, Renia Del Café, Got to Go, Who Is on The Case, Country Armagh, and new Imports like Bee Bomb, C.P Got Even Africianise and Funny factor all trying to make an early impression for the $700,000 and trophy in the 1200M sprint.
Fiesta Guinness Bar donated trophies for meet with Cynthia Jagdeo, rep of the PMTC, receiving one of them.
The race for Guyana and West Indies three year old horses has the likes of Cat Messiah, Silent Night, Flying Baby, Set for Fame, Another Jet, De legend, Silver Jet, Party Time and Easy to win going for the win in the 1300M race and the $350,000 and trophy up for grabs.
Summer Classic, Traditional Man, Captain Crook, War Craft, Treacle, Celebrating Love and Top of the Line are among the top class cast entered for the much anticipated G1 and lower contest for the $300,000 and trophy over 1300M .
The G3 and lower event is also expected to be a ding dong affair with Joyful Victory, Quiet Storm, Silent Lizzy, Third World, Super Bowl, Rock Sonia, Windy War and Rosetta among those looking for the victory and the $300,000 top prize and trophy over 1200M.
The G1 and lower race will feature War Craft, Dubai Duchess, The Bailiff, Bridal Stone Corner, Traditional man, Appealing Harvest and Captain Crook.
Among other horses lined up to compete are Summer Classic, Top of the Line, Joyful Victory, Rock Sonia, Quiet Storm, Cat Messiah among others.
The two year old West Indies bred race has Treasure Hunt, Unsettled, No Body Want me, Golden Key, Royal Empire, Quiet Dancer and Book Rules all will be looking for a good introduction to the track as they compete for the $300,000 and trophy over 1000M.
There is the two year old event for Guyana bred horses with a winners money of $220,000 over 1000M, the ‘I’ and lower race will be a 1200M affair with a first prize of $200,000 and trophy and the J and K class 1200M event with $150,000 and trophy at stake.
Outstanding individual performers including top Jockey, trainer and stable will be presented with accolades compliments of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the organisers.
Among the sponsors on board so far are Banks DIH Limited, Omai Transportation, Trophy Stall of Bourda Market, Toolsie Persaud Limited, South Land Incorporated, Sharon Incorporated, Mohamed Rahim and Sons, Balram Shane General Store, Friends of Port Mourant, Bobby and Indranie Misir, R and C Poonai and Delmur Shipping Company, Crown Spot Lemonade, Krishna Auto Sales, Terrence Laljit, Guinness Bar Rose Hall Town and Attorney at Law Tajenarine Ramroop.
The race will be run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA). Race time is 12:30 hrs.
