It is expected to be stiff competition when the second annual Grenville Felix cycle road race gets underway in Berbice today. The 96 year old retired Engineer is expected to send the cyclist on their way around 09:00 hrs from in from of his residence at Canefield East Canje, Berbice.
The 40 miles event, which is for cyclists of the Flying Ace Cycle Club only, will see the riders’ journeying from the point of origin to Adventure on the Corentyne Coast and back.
Prizes will be awarded to the first four finishers, the first two juniors, the first two veterans and the first juvenile to cross the finish line.
Felix along with his relatives including his 10 overseas based children will be on hand to assist with the distribution of the prizes after the event.
