A second voir dire was held yesterday in the trial of the two men accused of murdering 11 people at Lusignan East Coast Demerara. A voir dire is a trial within a trial.
Assistant Superintendent Trevor Reid along with Sergeant Suraj Singh and Corporal Rodwell Sarabo testified. Also yesterday one of the accused Mark Royden Williams, called ‘Smallie’ took to the witness box. He testified and was cross examined by Senior State Prosecutor Judith Gildharie-Mursalin.
The men are accused of being part of a gun-toting gang of men that slaughtered 11 persons in the early morning hours of January 26, 2008.
Williams, along with James Anthony Hyles, known as ‘Sally’ are on trial for the murders. The trial is expected to continue on Monday.
