Speeding driver destroys parked vehicle
The driver of a Toyota Allion is in police custody after slamming into a parked vehicle yesterday, causing it to flip into the air, landing several feet away in a nearby drain on the Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) Public Road. The car was also impounded at the Grove Police Station.

Eyewitnesses told this publication that several persons were in the Toyota Allion (PRR 3600) that was heading to the city and in the vicinity of Tank Street, Grove. Another Toyota Allion (PPP 6421), while exiting the same street, was clipped by the driver who was heading to Georgetown. The rate at which the driver of PRR 3600 was going caused the car to slam into a parked vehicle (PFF 5378), then into a utility pole, and subsequently crashing into another vehicle (PEE 6347) that was parked on the parapet.
“This car was going real fast. It almost uproot the lantern post and it even damaged two other cars,” an eyewitness said. “Imagine that car was parked in front of the ‘Full Luck’ restaurant, pitch up into the air and landed a yard away in a drain. If someone was in that vehicle they would have died. That driver had to be drunk!”
