These two vehicles ended up in separate trenches in the vicinity of Warren at No 19 East Coast Berbice, after they were involved in an accident.
According to information, at around 14:00 hrs on Wednesday the two vehicles were heading towards Corentyne when they bumped each other and ended up in the trench. It is understood that Motor Van GCC 6590 driven by Karanchan Budram called ‘Magga’42 of Blairmont West Bank Berbice, was heading in the direction of Corentyne when he tried to overtake a vehicle in front of him.
At the same time, motor car PPP6437 driven by Clairmont Smith, 20, of Lot 54 Stanleytown, was also heading in the same direction. Smith who was driving behind Budram was in the process of overtaking him when Budram allegedly tried to overtake the vehicle in front of him. The two vehicles collided.
Smith ended up in the trench on the right while Budram plunged into the trench on the left in the vicinity of Warren, East Coast Berbice.
Both drivers were rescued and rushed to the New Amsterdam hospital where they were treated and sent away..
Police are investigating.
