Cuban boxing Coach Francisco Hernandez Roldan will be conducting a two-day seminar for all boxing coaches at the Andrew ‘Sixhead’ Lewis Gym on Saturday and Sunday.
The seminar is the first in a series planned by the Guyana Boxing Association which will be conducted by Coach Roldon. According to GBA President Steve Ninvalle, frequent session will be held with the aim of improving the level of coaching in the country and by extension the level of boxers with the intention of targeting international accolades and that coveted Olympic medal that has eluded Guyana since Mike Parris’ feat in 1980.
The session on Saturday will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm, while on Sunday the coaches will be instructed from 12:00 to 4:00pm.
Coach Roldon is on an extended attachment to Guyana through the bilateral arrangement with the Cuban government.
