Residents of the Tucville community were treated to several exciting matches over the past weekend when activities in the Fruta Conquerors U-12 Football League continued at the Tucville Ground, Saturday and Sunday morning last.
On Saturday, Fruta Conquerors had a field day against Pele with a 6-0 humiliation after Jeremy Garrett (10, 58) and Simeon Hackett (25, 30) led the attack with support from Orwin Garraway (3rd) and Diara Thomas (50).
Conquerors ‘A’ failed to emulate their compatriots and conceded a 2-1 defeat to Santos FC. Ryan Dowding (20th) and Wazeem Algenon (60th) were the architects of Santos’ win while Gideon Dazzell (25th) pulled one back for Fruta ‘A.’
When activities continued on Sunday, Western Tigers triumphed over Camptown 2-0 compliments of a brace from Malacai Adonis (22nd, 49th) while Renaissance needled GFC after Teon Vankenic scored in the 50th minute.
Meanwhile, Conquerors played 5 games and has compiled 15 points to lead the other teams. Renaissance has also played 5 games but has conceded one and is on 12 points in the second place position. Western Tigers is third to date with 9 points after losing twice. The other point standings are GFC (7), Camptown and Santos (4 each), Fruta ‘A’ (3) while Pele is still to score a point and resides in the cellar.
Activities continue on Saturday July 13 with another double header. GFC will come up against Santos with Fruta Conquerors playing Fruta Conquerors ‘A.’ On Sunday, Western Tigers go head to head with Renaissance just before Pele throws down the gauntlet on Camptown.
The teams are competing for lucrative prizes coupled with incentives for the Most Valuable player, Best Goalkeeper and the Most Disciplined Player among others.
