Berbice High School (BHS) emphatically erased any ambitions Skeldon Line Path Secondary previously harboured to make it to the latter rounds after inflicting a 16-0 drubbing on them yesterday at the All Saints Ground in New Amsterdam, Berbice.
It was a game that everyone knew was over even before the half time whistle sounded after the rampant Berbice High players raced to a 6-0 lead after only 30 minutes of play and went to the break

enjoying a 10-0 advantage.
Played in front of a fair-sized crowd, BHS took the lead in the 9th minute through Shemroy Hetemyer, who took full advantage of a terrible mix-up in communication between two defenders, before unleashing a powerful shot past the goalkeeper.
Five minutes later, Keyron McKenzie stretched their lead when he weaved past two defenders and drilled a low left-foot shot into the far corner.
Steton Hinds added another after gleefully accepting a gift, the result of a poor attempt to clear the ball from the area and he made no mistake, hammering a piledriver past the hapless Skeldon Line Path goalie go make it 3-0.
Hetemyer then netted two goals in quick succession to complete a hat-trick after, scoring in the 19th and 23rd minutes to open the floodgates. It was one way traffice after then as the visibly demoralised Skeldon Line Path unit begun to disintegrate into pieces as BHS repeatedly sliced open their backline in a clinical display.
McKenzie scored his second in the 27th minute, before Mark Wronge opened up with a powerful shot into the back of the net one minute later.
The rampaging never seemed to cease as McKenzie he added four more in the 33rd, 75th, 77th and 80th minutes, while Jeremy Samuels in the 40th, 48th and 79th minutes and Wronge’s 91st minute strike completed their tally in a clearly lop-sided contest.
Meanwhile, Fort Wellington cruised past Belladrum 8-3 with Cordell Nicholson (8, 65), Marlon Hardy (52, 73), Jason Vossey (21), Darrel Douglas (43) and Yannick Blair (58), the players on target for the winners. Ossie Halley (68, 90) and Mark Morris (45) responded for the losers.
The championship continues today with matches in the various zones.
