The Guyana Legion (GL) in association with popular dominoes organiser Lyall Gittens have joined forces for what is anticipated to be a massive CARICOM Day Dominoes competition set for the Guyana Legion Hall, Carifesta Avenue on Monday next.
With the added attraction of the first twelve (12) teams to register receiving a prize, Monday’s competition is expected to attract the best exponents of the sport in Guyana with a first prize of $80,000 up for the taking.
Half that amount is reserved for the second place team with $20,000 is at stake for the third placed team.
The competition will attract an entrance fee of $9,000 with double six time set for 12:00hrs. Gittens informed that a popular sound system will be on hand to saturate the atmosphere with the appropriate sounds while bar-b-que will also be on sale.
Some of the teams expected to participate are Ansa Mc Al, Banks DIH, Republic Bank, M&CC, Guyana Shipping, DeSinco Trading, Bayridge, Harbour Bridge, Guyana Prison, Guyana Legion, Ministry of Works, Guyana Printery, Guyana Police Force, Guyana Fire Service, NCN, CARICOM, Sterling Products, NAFICO, Guyana Post Office, Mings, Strykers Sports Club, Upper Level Sports Bar and KTS.
