The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA), in observance of ‘International Olympic Day’ will be hosting its annual Jog/Walk and 10km Team Run on Sunday, starting at 6am outside YMCA at Thomas Lands among a host of other events in other sport disciplines.
The GOA has announced that the Jog/Walk is not a race and is open to all persons ten (10) years and older and entry is free. However, the 10km Team Run comprises of two (2) females and four (4) males and they must complete the course in order to obtain points for the team.
Each association/club/school can enter the maximum of two (2) teams. The prizes for the Team Run are as follows: 1st Prize-$60,000; 2nd Prize-$42,000; 3rd Prize-$30,000.00. Individuals who participate in the event will receive a T-Shirt and an IOC Certificate.
Completed entry forms should be returned to “Olympic House” 76 High Street, Kingston, no later than 4pm on Wednesday June 19; the release asked prospective participants to note that no entries will be accepted for the Team Run after the closing date.

Cycling: 5 BMX Cycle Races for Girls 6 to 12 yrs; Boys 6 to 9 yrs; 9 to 12 yrs; 12 to 14 yrs and Open; venue: National Park Circuit; date: Saturday; time: 10a.m; Contact Person: Hassan Mohamed.
Weightlifting: Weightlifting Exhibition; venue: National Park Tarmac; date: Saturday; time: 2pm; Contact Person: Deion Nurse.
Volleyball: Volleyball Festival; venue: National Park Court; date: Saturday; time: 12 noon; Contact Person: Lenox Shuffler.
Karate : Karate Demonstration; Venue: National Park Stage; date: Saturday; time: 2pm; Contact Person: Bernice Irving.
Special Olympics: Bocce Exhibition; venue: National Park; date: Saturday; time: 10am; Contact Person: Wilton Spencer.
Triathlon: A team Sprint Triathlon (Swimming, Cycling, Athletics): locations: National Aquatic Centre: East Coast (Railway) Embankment; National Park Track; date: Saturday, time: 8am and joint coordination from GASA/GCF/AAG; Contact Person: Dr. Karen Pilgrim.
