Berbice Bridge Company honours its fathers
The Berbice Bridge Company Incorporated (BBCI) honoured 15 of its employees, all of them fathers for Father’s Day at its D’Edward Village, West Bank Berbice location.
The oldest father in the village, 87- year- old Mr. Ramana received a food hamper.
Mr. Omadatt Samaroo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BBCI, stated that the initiative has become a tradition for the past two years, “and we will continue with this tradition.”

“Our fathers leave home very early in the morning and goes home late in the afternoon, making huge sacrifices.”
At the simple ceremony, he outlined the history of Father’s Day as well as the significance of fathers in children’s lives today.
“Children depend on their fathers for their physical, emotional, financial and social well- being,” he added. For daughters, fathers are the ideal men in the world …while for sons, fathers are their idols.” The father, he stated, is seen more as a provider in the home.
A special hamper was also presented to David Persaud who became the newest father at BBCI.
The company also visited home-bound father Mr. Abdul Wazir of D’ Edward Village and presented him, too, with a hamper.
Also congratulating fathers was Operations Manager of BBCI, Mr. Jainarine Koosial.
