The Ministry of Home Affairs is assuring city residents of relief from noise nuisance emanating from two popular city nightspots.
In a press release issued Wednesday, the Ministry referred to the numerous complaints of noise nuisance by residents living in close proximity to Seeta’s Bar, located on Station Street, Kitty, and the White Castle Fish Shop, Hadfield Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, respectively.
The Ministry denounced in the strongest terms, “the great discomfort and inconvenience experienced by residents as a result of the loud, continuous and repetitive playing of music at these locations, as well as the accompanying disorderly behaviour of patrons, and the indiscriminate parking of vehicles”.
“Residents are assured that both the Commissioner of Police (ag.) and the Chief Fire Officer were approached and have been given specific instructions in regard to the handling of this matter, in the interest of law and order. It is anticipated that residents will experience some relief, shortly,” the Ministry stated.
The statement did not disclose what instructions were given to the Top Cop and Fire Chief.
Presently, the proprietor of Seeta’s Bar is before the court for noise nuisance even as neighbours continue to complain.
