Specialist won the final of the Lyndon Boston 40th Birth Anniversary Dominoes competition contested on Monday evening at Dynasty Sports Club, South Ruimveldt. Specialist and Mix-Up were tied on 75 games but the former was awarded first place by virtue of marking more sixes; TNT came third with 69 games.

Dexter Thompson was Specialist’s leading marker with 16 games while Andrew Mendonca and Mark Rodrigues chipped in with 14 each, Shawn Mc Kenzie had 13. Colin Thomas marked 14 for the runner-up team while Trevor Smith and Mark Wiltshire scored 13 each.
Shawn Morgan made 16 for TNT while John Chance supported with 15 and Suraj Samaroo 12. Specialist received a trophy and $150,000 while Mix-Up collected a trophy and $80,000. TNT took home a trophy and $50,000.
The competition was organised by Lyndon Boston and sponsored by Guytrack, Ansa McAL and K and B Mining.
Speaking at the presentation, Boston said he was pleased with the standard of the competition but stressed the need for more discipline. He also thanked the Public Relations Officer of the Georgetown Dominoes Association (GDA) Basil Bradshaw and Organizing Secretary Mark Wiltshire for their assistance.
Boston urged the GDA to make sure that competitions start on time while stating that the recess period between each round is too lengthy. GDA President Faye Joseph congratulated the winning team while also showing appreciation for the sponsors.
