….family blasts police investigations
Prabhudyal ‘Ramesh’ Tarachand, 34, of High Reef, Albion Corentyne, was remanded to prison on Thursday after he appeared before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court.
Tarachand was represented by Attorney-at-Law, Mursalene Bacchus. He was arrested on Sunday evening after the gruesome discovery of his 28- year- old wife, Geeta Devi ‘Diane’ Bhishundial at their High Reef, Albion home, who was strangled to death.
Tarachand ingested paint ‘thinner’ and hung himself on the same evening, after an argument ensued involving his wife and another individual, Bryan Luke. Police released Luke late Monday.
Tarachand will make his second court appearance on June 18, 2013. The matter has been transferred to the Albion Magistrate’s Court.
Meanwhile, Diane’s funeral will take place today at her parents’ residence in Edinburgh.
