GWBA names squad for Antigua tour

The Guyana Women’s Basketball Association (GWBA) has announced its squad ahead of the 13th Annual Gillian Brazier Basketball Shoot-Out scheduled for June 30-July 7 in Antigua and Barbuda where Guyana is defending champion.
A release from the association said yesterday that Guyana is hoping to defend its title against the other international teams expected to compete in the competition. “If afforded the opportunity, it (Team Guyana) will be bent on bringing home the title again,” the release said.
In that vein, the GWBA has made public its appeal to sponsors to assist the team in achieving its goal of recapturing the Gillian Brazier Basketball title in Antigua. GWBA is encouraging persons to visit its website www.guyanawba.com to find out about its programmes or contact Coach, Mark Agard on (592) 660-4311 to offer any form of support.
The players named on the squad are: Natasha Alder, Amera Alphonso, Kean Andrews, Shanna Chester, Timike Joseph-DeRouche, Lowquantor Gibson, Tamara Hunter, Ginelle Ifill, Sharon Jerome, Nicola Jacobs, Natola Primo, Kristy Roberts, LaToya Rodney, Sonia Rodney and Shakiella Sampson.
