The Second Edition of the C&R Promotions Smyth Street Football Competition will be held on Sunday June 30 at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Lawns, Thomas Lands from 10am.
According to a press release, defending champions, DreamWorks Pitbulls (Dolphin Secondary) will play in a round-robin against Malia’s Brazilian Warriors (Charlestown Secondary), Mark Interior Challengers (Central High) and Cellpoint Tsunami (St. Mary’s High) for the coveted Smyth Street Championship trophy and bragging rights.
“The competition is aimed at raising the standards of football being played among the youths in the areas categorised as ‘depressed’,” the release stated, adding that C & R Promotions is in its fourth year of hosting the Fun Day and Fair.
It said that Stereo Sonics and Wild Things will be providing the entertainment as the Organisers look forward to the usual support from the public and sport enthusiasts.
