Sensei Pramhansa ‘Kumar’ Ramkirath, head instructor for Bassai Karate Dojo – New York, has been accepted as a member of the prestigious International Seishinkai Karate Federation (ISKF) of Hokkaido Japan.
Sensei Ramkirath has been practicing Shito-Ryu Karate since 1993 under Sensei Darryl Williams and is ranked as a Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt). He also has a Black Belt in Shotokan karate prior to his Shito-Ryu training. His dojo is located in Queens New York. Sensei can be contacted at 347-680-0984.
Meanwhile, Team Elite Karate of Sangre Grande again dominated the Trinidad and Tobago Karate Federation (TTKF) National Championships recently at Maloney Indoor Sport Arena. They were the largest group with over fifty participants with athletes in every category. They won 112 medals (50 gold, 38 silver and 24 bronze).
Team Elite will be hosting their Kumite Classic tournament on July 28th at Sangre Grande Secondary School. The next major event will be the Caribbean Cup in November.
