A construction worker was killed on the spot at around 18:30 hrs yesterday after crashing his motorcycle into the back of a trailer on the Canal Number Two Public Road, West Bank Demerara.
Relatives identified the victim as Ravindranauth Sarjou, of Canal Number Two, and said that he was about 30 years old.
Rohan Sarjou, the victim’s brother, said that his sibling was heading home from work when he crashed into the back of the unlit trailer, which was parked on the road. The brother said that the crash occurred less than a quarter of a mile from the victim’s home. A relative contacted him by phone and informed him of the tragedy.
He said that the trailer belongs to a farmer, and he alleged that residents had expressed concern that the unlit trailer posed a threat to road users.
