Entries are pouring in for the Rising Sun Turf Club Fund Raising Horserace meet set for Sunday 28th April at the Rising Sun Turf Club at Arima Park on the West Coast of Berbice.
The meet will be held in collaboration with the Hard Runnings Promotion and Trucking Service.
With less than one week away preparations have heightened and over 70 entries have been received for the meet so far.
Eight races are listed on the day’s card which has over $6.5M in cash and trophies up for the taking.
A number of sponsors are also on board including; Banks DIH Limited, Shariff Business Enterprise and racing stable, Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice, Inshan Bacchus Trucking Service and Company Limited, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing stables, Hablaw Meat Centre, Rohit Lumber yard, Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market, Japarts and Rising Sun Cattle Ranch are among those on board so far.
Some of the top animals that will be on show on race day are Grande Roja, Zelick, Diamond Dazzling, Who So Ever, Mission King, Renia Del café, The Baliff, Miss Karina, C.P Got Even, County Armagh, Fresh Again, Treacle, Red and Lovely Captain Crook, East To win, Swing Easy, Third World, Top of the Line Cat Messiah, Prado’s Gold, Set For Fame, It’s My Turn, Appealing Harvest, Bridal Stone Corner, Joyful Victory, Technology, Savion, Silent Night, Mona Lisa, Ameera’s Joy, Traditional Man, Easy To Win, Red Cloud, Mary Ann among others are down to take part.
The list of events are the feature for C and lower horses compliments of Banks DIH Limited over 1400M for a winning take of $700,000.
Three year Guyana and West Indies Bred animals will be battling for a top prize of $400,000 over 1400M.
The race for E and D and lower maiden animals has a winning take of $400,000 over 1100M.
There is a race for F and lower horses over 1400M which has $350,000 and trophy for the winner.
The G class 1400M race will see the winner taking away the $340,000 and trophy. There is a race for animals classified G3 and lower which goes for a winner’s prize of $300,000 and trophy also over 1400M.
Turfites will see the top ‘I’ class horses racing for a winners tag of $240,000 and trophy over 1100M.
The J class 1100M sprint has a winner’s prize of $200,000 and trophy. The top individual performers, which includes top stable, jockey, horse and trainer will be presented with accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the organisers.
