BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS – Third Windward Islands sneaked by second placed Jamaica by five wickets to win the second semifinal in the Regional Super50 competition and book a place in the final.
On Thursday, the Combined Campuses & Colleges defeated Trinidad & Tobago by 140 runs to book a place in today’s final where they face the Windwards.
Jamaica won the toss and elected to bat first and totaled 242/8 off their 50 Overs. Brenton Parchment 86, Nkrumah Bonner 74 and Dave Bernard 32 led the batting. Kenroy Peters 9-0-60-3, Delorn Johnson 10-2-48-2 and Liam Sebastien 10-0-43-2 were the wicket takers for the Windwards.
Chasing 243 for victory and a place in the final, Windward Islands reached 244/5 off 49 Overs. Andre Fletcher 68, Keddy Lesporis 61, Devon Smith 59 and Tyrone Theophile 29 piloted their chase. Odean Brown 10-0-38-2, Nikita Miller 10-0-48-1, Dave Bernard 8-0-46-1 and Andrew Richardson 7-0-47-1 led the Jamaican bowling effort.
Scores: Jamaica 242-8; Windwards 244-5.
Result: Windward Islands defeated Jamaica by 5 wickets
Toss: Jamaica won the toss and elected to bat first.
