The police have said that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of farmer Bilaal Peters, 33, of Madewini, Soesdyke/Linden Highway. According to the police the man’s body was found in his home about 15:15 hours on Tuesday with a gunshot wound to his head. A .32 revolver with four live rounds a spent shell was recovered at the scene.
This publication was told that it is believed that the man may have committed suicide after a heated argument with his wife.
Sources close to the investigation revealed that earlier in the day the man’s wife left the home and went to the city. Sometime later she telephoned her husband and told him that she was on her way home. When the woman reached home an argument ensued over money.
The woman reportedly told persons that her husband went into a room in the house and she heard what sounded like a gunshot and she found him lying on the ground.
The police were informed and the body removed. There are also reports that the man was first seen with the gun about a year ago but it is not clear if Peters was licensed to carry the gun.
