The Guyana Amateur Body Building & Fitness Federation (GABBFF) on Saturday last held the first in a series of Athletes Forums that are geared towards education of athletes on various issues relating to them becoming more competent in their trade.
Facilitator of the inaugural Forum was GABBFF Vice President and Internationally renowned Hugh Ross; the venue was Olympic House, High Street.
Giving a brief on the outcome of the first in a series of quarterly Forums, Ross said that it went exceptionally well with the 20-plus athletes present from Berbice, East Coast, Georgetown, East Bank and West Bank not being afraid to ask questions.
“I was really pleased with the turn out and the level of involvement of the athletes. They were advised on proper nutrition and supplementation and the questions asked after my presentation was very encouraging. It showed that these athletes are eager to know much more about the sport and how they can become more professional.”
Ross also disclosed that information was shared on pre and post training and nutrition, the session lasted for just over two and a half hours.
The GABBFF and Ross noted that they are aiming to do similar programmes on varying topics relevant to the sport and the continued development of the athletes every quarter.
Special thanks were extended to Banks Malta Brand Manager Mr. Clayton McKenzie for their contribution of snacks which included Banks Malta to all the attending athletes.
