Small bore Vice captain Gordon Richards won the senior category while Duane Duncan was first among the juniors at the Guyana National Rifle Association (GNRA) handgun section first Practical Pistol match held at the Timehri shooting ranges Sunday.
Richards defeated smallbore Captain Dale Hing who placed second while Dr. Johan DaSilva finished third.
Duncan turned back a strong challenge from Azaad Hassan and Rajiv Latchanna in the junior division at the one-day which attracted a large turnout of shooters.
In the individual stages senior shooter Murtland Smith came in third and this put him in fourth place in the senior category overall.
Junior shooter Sekani Fredericks placed second in one stage but he was edged out by Alex Moore who placed fourth overall in the junior category.
The match was an IPSC match and consisted of two stages with a senior and junior category.
Both stages presented challenges thereby forcing shooters to make quick decisions in the least amount of time while acquiring targets on the move.
