One change has been made as preparation intensifies for the Bush Lot United Turf Club one day horserace meet set for Sunday 14th April at the Club’s entity Sea View Park, Bush Lot West Coast Berbice.
The seven race card has seen the organisers scaling back the feature event from B to D class, with the prize money and distance remaining the same. The event will be run over 1600M for a pole position taking of $500,000 and trophy.
A number of sponsors have so far indicated their willingness to be a part of the day’s proceedings including Banks DIH Limited, Buddy Shivraj, Trophy Stall, Bourda Market, Inshan Bacchus Business Enterprise, Baijnauth Sawmills, Phagoo General Store, Hot and Spicy and Mohammed ‘Nankoo’ Shariff.
Over $6.5 M in cash trophies and other goodies are up for the taking and a number of animals have already taken entry with a number of newly imported racehorses set to be a part of the day’s action.
The other events are – for horses classified F and lower with the top notch field expected to compete for the $360,000 winners money and trophy over 1400M.
Then there is an event for three and four year old maiden animals bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies with a tantalizing first prize of $300,000 and trophy over 1200M at stake.
The G class race will be a 1200M affair with the animals running for a winning purse of $300,000 and trophy.
The ‘I’ and lower event is also a 1200M contest for a winning purse of $240,000 and trophy.
The J class event will see the animals racing for a winner’s money of the $180,000 and trophy also in another 1000M event.
The K class match up will see the winner pocketing $140,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies compliments of The Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.
