Hemant Narine returned to form to win the Guyana National Rifle Association (GNRA) handgun section second Precision Pistol competition held at the Tactical Services Unit (TSU) range at Eve Leary Saturday.
There were two categories, the .22 pistol category for beginners and novices was shot at five and seven metres ranges, while the 9mm pistol category was shot from seven metres and 10 metre ranges.
Narine emerged winner in the 9mm category at seven metres and 10 metres with a total of 187 points with seven V’s beating into second position smallbore captain Dale Hing who finished with 185 points with five V’s.
Third place went to Aundrea Cambridge who shot 185 with four V’s. Other seasoned shooters included Murtland Smith, Gordon Richards and Ryan Mckinnon.
Newcomer Lennox Edun and female shooter Vidushi Persaud performed exceptionally well in the 9mm category.
Philip Zaman won the .22 pistol shoot with 180 points and two V’s, while Randolph Scott was a distant second with 148 with one V bull.
