Dear Editor,
Isn’t it criminal that NICIL continues to hold and spend billions of dollars of taxpayers’ money without Parliamentary oversight? Isn’t that an act of Parliamentary Assassination?
Isn’t it an act of Parliamentary Assassination when the Guyana Geology & Mines Commission transferred G$254 million of the people’s money to NICIL without Parliamentary approval?
Isn’t it an assassination of Parliament when the Jagdeo/Ramotar cabal makes NICIL into a parallel custodian of the people’s money without seeking Parliamentary approval?
Isn’t it an assassination of Parliament when parliamentary motions are passed by the majority and not assented to by the President because these motions originated from the majority opposition?
Isn’t an assassination of Parliament when taxpayers’ funds are misused on the Marriot project without their permission by way of the necessary approval in the Parliament?
So what is all this balderdash coming out of Freedom House about parliamentary assassination?
When your head is hard and you are also a bully, you need mental counseling to save you from your mental delusions. The PPP operatives seem to be in need of such counseling since they chose to ignore the political reality that they are the minority in Guyana today. They choose instead to block out the voice of the majority of people and chose the weapon of bullyism to progress the developmental agenda and expect the majority to just roll over and say thank you to them?
Wake up, Gail! Since August of 2012, the majority in Parliament made it very clear they have lost confidence in Rohee at Home Affairs. The principled thing for the Government to do was to engage the majority in parliament in the tripartite committee to arrive at solutions to the situation. But no, the minority Jagdeo/Ramotar cabal chooses to bully and take the collar off its pit-bull of propaganda.
But the old people always say the best methodology in dealing with bullies is firm and consistent action with a dose of the silent treatment.
Congratulations to the majority opposition for finally stemming this barrage of bullyism being unleashed on the people by the Jagdeo/Ramotar cabal. We observe the latest discovery in a long list of governance infractions being the Jagdeo/Ramotar cabal sharing out airwaves to their favorite friends and family and shutting out legitimate broadcasters like Enrico Woolford.
The political operative in the PPP who are defending this ROHEE-Gate saga really got hard heads since it defies logics that in light of the majority of Guyana losing confidence in Rohee at Home Affairs, there is no justification for keeping him in place? Would it not be wiser to move him to another Ministry? He will still get to keep all the perks and even if he wants they can offer him a police siren so he can feed his amaranthine ego.
This political grandstanding by the PPP to feed Rohee’s ego is immature and at best infantile. All they are doing by focusing on the micro- issues and neglecting the macro-issues is contributing to the acceleration of the poverty in the country.
Let good sense prevail Mr. President – Rohee must GO!
