Affiliates of the Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) demonstrated continued faith in the administrative ability of Shiv Nandalall and elected him to another term of office when that organization staged its Annual General Meeting at Olympic House, High Street, Kingston, Sunday March 10 last.
Vishnu Rampersaud was also returned unopposed as the Secretary, while Irshad Mohamed clinched the position of Vice President. He was also retained as the Tournament Director.

Three times National Senior Chess Champion, Taffin Khan, will serve as the Chess Trainer while the lone female on the executive, Shazeeda Rahim, will serve as a head of the fund raising committee. Ryan Singh is the new Treasurer, while Ronald Roberts and Krishnandan Raghunandan are the two committee members. John Lee was the Returning Officer.
Meanwhile, the executives will convene shortly to discuss projects, tournaments and other activities for the remainder of the year. Already, the local Federation is planning to host an inaugural team championship among other players from CARICOM member states scheduled for later this year.
