Preparations have begun for the Bush Lot United Turf Club one day horserace meet slated for Sunday 14th April at the Club’s entity, Sea View Park, Bush Lot West Coast Berbice.
Seven races are listed on the day’s programme with over $6M in cash and prizes up for grabs.
With so much on offer an action pack day of racing is anticipated.
A number of feature races are listed on the day’s card with races for B, F G, and the four and three year olds maiden events being the top drawing cards.
The Feature race will be for horses classified ‘B’ and lower with the animals set to cover a distance of 1600M for a winning purse of $500,000 and trophy.
There is the event for horses classified F and lower with the top notch field expected to compete for the $360,000 winners money and trophy over 1400M.
Then there is an event for three and four year old maiden animals bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies with a tantalizing first prize of $300,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The G class race will be a 1200 M affair with the animals running for a winning purse of $300,000 and trophy.
The ‘I’ and lower event is also a 1200 M contest for a winning purse of $240,000 and trophy.
J class event will see the animals racing for a winner’s money of the $180,000 and trophy also in another 1000M event. The K class match up will see the winner pocketing $140,000 and trophy over 1200M.
Among the sponsors who have indicated their willingness so far are Banks DIH Limited, Buddy Shivraj, Trophy Stall Bourda market, Inshan Bacchus Business Enterprise, Baijnauth Sawmills, Phagoo General Store, Hot and Spicy and Mohammed “Nankoo “Shariff.
The individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies compliments of The Trophy Stall, Bourda market.
