Germaine Whyte, a 27-year-old Guyana Defence Force paratrooper was injured yesterday during a paratrooping exercise. According to the Army’s statement the incident occurred at Base Camp Stephenson while the officer was practising a free fall jump.
Whyte, of Bagotstown, reportedly injured his leg and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital for medical attention. According to the Army’s statement the injured rank’s leg has been ‘immobilized’.
