A man who was employed with the Mayor and City Council for the last 13 years is taking the municipality to court after he claimed that he was wrongfully dismissed. According to Troy Isaacs, he was employed as an accounts clerk.
Isaacs in a court order said that he received a letter from the Minister within the Ministry of Local Government informing the defendant that his services with the municipality were terminated from December 31, 2012.
Isaacs is seeking the court’s intervention to get his salary for the months of January and February 2013. He is also seeking damages in the sum of $5 million being his employer’s contribution to his retirement benefits.
The municipality is commanded within 10 days to respond to Isaacs. Failing to do so will result in judgment being given against you.
