Excitement reached fever pitch in the Mining Town of Linden on Thursday and Friday last, as several schools across Region 10 sought to outdo each other in dance, costume, flouncing and physical display, to kick-start this segment of the Mashramani celebrations.
Decked out in every colour of the rainbow, Lindeners flocked the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground for two action and fun-filled days, which commenced on Thursday with the junior segment of the event.
Intermittent showers interspersed both days’ events, but failed to put a damper on the spirits of the hyped students, and their equally excited parents and teachers.
Except for one or two lackluster performances, all the students did their schools proud with energetic dances and physical displays.
The few floats showcased much creativity, and costumes worn by the participating students, were mostly of a very high standard.
