Three women rob supermarket

Three women yesterday entered an Industry, East Coast Demerara supermarket and carted off 24 bottles of Marmite and a large quantity of Milk Powder. They hid the items under their skirts.
According to reports, the three women, one of whom looked like a man but appeared to be a woman, entered into “The Market Place” located at 97 Fifth Street, Industry Scheme, East Coast Demerara around 12:06pm and carried out the act.
Yashpaul Sewnarine, proprietor of the supermarket, said that he was not at the business place when the incident occurred but when he arrived he noticed some items were missing.
“I know that all these things couldn’t have been sold so fast so I check the camera and is then when I see what really happened,” Sewnarine related.
Kaieteur News understands that according to the video footage, two of the women entered together, while the third culprit entered after them.
The owner’s 12-year-old son who was at the counter was distracted by one of the three women while the other two carried out the act.
“One of them fill her bag with 24 Marmite, five 5lb powder milk and three 2 ½ powder milk in a bag and under her skirt,” the businessman said.
